Lip Syncing Exercise

As I will be asking the actors in my music video to lip sync along to the music, I tried it myself to understand what it was like so that I could help my actors when filming. I found that by singing along to the track quietly I was able to keep in time better and therefore make it look more convincing.

In the group I was working in for the lip syncing exercise we took it in turns to direct each other. From this I learnt the importance of making the actor feel comfortable when they are in front of the camera as it naturally feels strange and can be embarrassing. I found that if I didn't take it too seriously and allowed myself to feel silly behind the camera, the actor would feel less tense and could enjoy themselves making the atmosphere of the video more enjoyable to watch. I also realised how vital it is that the actors know the words to the song as it shows on their face when they are concentrating more on remembering the lyrics than they are acting.
